1. General information
The main objective of the subject is that the student acquires the theoretical and practical knowledge to approach the patient with a medical-anthropological and holistic vision. The subject is focused on the training of general practitioners, with the following goals:
1. Knowledge: Basic (bio-psycho-social approach), clinical (psychological aspects of the practice) and
research.
2. Skills: Presentation of clinical cases, group discussion, establishing an adequate doctor-patient relationship , identifying the psychological problems of getting ill and the critical aspects of knowledge.
3. Attitudes: Clinical common sense, continuing education, stimulate research, humanize the
Medicine, professional ethics.
The subject is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030, UN): -Goal 3: Health and wellness.

-Goal 5: Gender Equality.
2. Learning results
2.1- The student must demonstrate the following results:
-To know the fundamental elements of psychic functions.
-To be familiar with psychopathological language.
-To know the basic elements of personality.
-To know the evolution of the psyche.
-To know the most important aspects of the doctor-patient relationship.
-The student, with his psychopathological knowledge, will be able to describe cases from this point of view
psychiatric clinics.
2.2- Importance of learning results
-The subject contributes to the student having a humanistic vision of Medicine, by understanding that the patient is a person who suffers because of their illness.
-It allows the student to be able to perform a bio-psycho-social approach to patients.
-In addition, the psychopathological knowledge acquired will allow them to better understand the clinical psychiatry, which is taught in the following semester.

11. Behaviour, psychopathology.
12. Brain bases of behaviour.
13- Unconscious. Psychoanalysis.
14- Developmental psychology: childhood and adolescence.
15- Developmental psychology: the elderly.
16- Social psychology.
17- Reactions to the disease. Physician-patient relationship. Medical-psychological interview.
18- Psychological effects of treatments.
19- Psychosomatic medicine. Stress and illness.
20- General psychological approach. Psychotherapies.
4. Academic activities
1. Face-to-face teaching (45%: 2.7 ECTS, 67.5 hours):
The program (20 lessons) will be taught in 31 theoretical classes (large groups), 13 seminars and workshops and 10 practical classes (small groups of 4-5 students). Seminars and Workshops will consist of presentations of clinical cases with active student participation. The practices will provide training in instruments and techniques used in the clinic.
The tutorials will be personal and face-to-face, by previously requesting a date with the chosen teacher.
2. Non-attendance teaching (55%: 3.3 ECTS, 82.5 hours):
Autonomous work of the student, dedicated to the study of the theoretical program and the preparation of seminars.
5. Assessment system
The student must demonstrate achievement of the intended learning results through the following assessment activities:
1. Theoretical examination: It may include questions from the theoretical program, seminars, workshops and practices. It will consist of ten short questions and two long questions (40% of the final grade).
2. Theoretical-practical exam: Clinical case (40% of the final grade).
3. Seminars, practices and Workshops (20% of the final grade): Assessment by continuous evaluation.
3. Other evaluations (20% of the final grade): Seminars, practices and Workshops The evaluation of these activities will be carried out by the teacher in charge by means of a continuous evaluation system with short questions, voluntary interventions and/or small group work.
Medical Psychology Evaluation Criteria, Abstract:
Theoretical exam (2 long topics + 10 short questions): 4.0 points.
Theoretical-practical examination (clinical case): 4.0 points.
Seminars, practices and Workshops: 2.0 points.
The results obtained by the student are graded according to a numerical scale with the expression of a decimal and its corresponding qualitative grade (Outstanding, Notable, Pass, Fail).
Honours (MH) will be awarded to the students from among those with outstanding grades that have showed higher participation in teaching activities and higher grades.
